CHRIS JOANNOU'S PRE-OWNED RARE BASS FOR SALE WITH PART PROCEEDS GOING TO CHARITY
UPDATE - The guitar has now sold.
Calling all bass playing Silverchair fans.
The infamous bass Chris Joannou used at Silverchair's memorable Rock in Rio performance in Brazil, 2001, has just been put on the market by a fan who purchased the guitar from Chris in 2005.
The rare, modified by Chris, sparkly blue G&L 4-string bass which is in very good condition can be viewed on ebay and YouTube.
25% proceeds from the sale will be donated towards Nathan's Bequest - a charity that Chris supports strongly. Please donate or support even if you don't win the bid - http://nathansbequest.com

CHRIS TO PRESENT AT THIS YEAR'S 2010 ARIA AWARDS
Chris Joannou will present at the 2010 ARIA Awards along side other musicians, an actor, satirists and even a politician. These include actor Eric Stonestreet from the smash hit Network Ten comedy Modern Family, rock pop outfit Operator Please, Ricki Lee, Stan Walker, Grinspoon's Phil Jamieson, Jessica Mauboy, Clare Bowditch, Jason Derulo and You Am I's Tim Rogers. Politician Bob Katter, Independent Member for Kennedy, will team up with Andrew Hansen and Julian Morrow from The Chaser.

ANDREW ZUCKERMAN'S LATEST COFFEE TABLE BOOK - MUSIC
Daniel Johns features with some of Australasia's most respected names in music in a new international coffee-table book.
New York photographer Andrew Zuckerman's latest project, a book of portraits titled Music, includes Daniel, Jimmy Barnes, Bic Runga, Dave Dobbyn and Neil Finn among 52 portraits of some of the world's top musicians.
Zuckerman flew out to Australia and New Zealand to shoot sessions with local artists, who feature alongside big name internationals including Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Eve, Chrissie Hynde and Lenny Kravitz.
The book follows Zuckerman's 2008 tome, Wisdom, which, like Music, was published with the help of South African archbishop Desmond Tutu to bring messages of inspiration from well-known figures, to the world.
As well as displaying raw and emotive portraits, Zuckerman includes individual stories in the artists' own words about their lives and careers.
"Looking at the topography of someone's face, so much information is in there." Zuckerman tells Insider. "You can glean so much from their essential character."
Silverchair's Daniel Johns says: "Music is just organised noise. Its emotional resonance comes out of passion." Although Zuckerman says getting all the artists involved was hard work, he hopes to bring out a follow up edition.
"It's hard to convince people who are generally used to a very focused reason for doing press to just get out there and do someone else's essentially art project." he says.

New Silverchair Forum
Due to the rapidly increasing levels of SPAM and lack of modern features on the old forum we were forced to re-evaluate Silverchair's official forum. The old forum used a version that was no longer supported so new SPAM control was going to be increasingly difficult and new features were not possible.
Accordingly we took the opportunity to build a brand new Silverchair forum with all the latest tools, features and services. You now have a new design, many new functions not available in the past along with the latest SPAM resistance techniques.
